How do I prepare my hair for my appointment?

What is the difference between a trim and a cut?

Under half an inch is a trim. New shapes and layers are classed as a cut.

I’ve never had a curly hair cut, how does it work?

Consultation

We will firstly spend a short time accessing and discussing your hair history, present condition, and future plans.

 

Cut & Style

I will cut your hair dry which will be followed by a relaxing shampoo, condition and curly diffuse blow dry.

I will then finish off defining and shaping your hair to the preferred style.

 

Products & Advice

I will give you advice throughout your appointment to ensure you get the best out of your beautiful curls post cut!

Do you only cut curly hair?

No, I cut all hair types. For a full list of services click here.

I want my haircut exactly like x, y or z?

You may wish to present photos of the type of style you are trying to achieve.

But please note, it is not always possible to achieve replicas of hairstyles. Curly hair is very diverse and some looks may have been achieved via curly hair extensions, rods or heat.

I have pre-cut nerves. Help!

I completely understand if you feel nervous or overwhelmed before or during your appointment. Feel free to speak up and ask questions before or during your appointment.

Do you offer consultations?

Yes, we offer consultations for bridal, occasion, colour and photo/video hair.

What products do you stock in your salon?

We currently stock products from the curly hair range at Boucléme.

I don't see any available appointments?

Please continue to check daily for any openings that may become available.

Can I make an appointment in advance?

Appointments are only available 3 months in advance when booking online, appointments beyond this date need to be made by phone.

Do you have a waitlist?

Yes, there is now a waitlist. Please email your name, number and desired service to hello@kinsonbykizzy.com. You will be notified when space becomes available

No, there is no waitlist or cancellation list. Please continue to check social media for last-minute openings.

How long will my appointment be?

Haircut time is about 1-3 hours depending on your length, texture and density. Appointments maybe longer for long haired clients and colour services.

What form of payments do you accept?

All major debit/credit cards or cash are accepted at the salon. For online deposits all major debit/credit cards.

Does my deposit go towards my service?

Yes, a 50% deposit reserves your appointment and will be deducted from your service fee. Consultations deposits will be refunded upon attendance.

I want to reschedule/cancel my appointment. If I cancel, will my deposit be refunded?

You can reschedule/cancel your appointment via the ‘Manage Reservations’ button in your confirmation email. Any appointment cancelled with more than 24hrs notice will be refunded in full. Appointments cancelled with less than 24hrs notice will lose their deposit of 50% of the hair service fee.

What is a prep work fee?

A £10 fee applied to clients who do not follow the pre-appointment instructions for curly hair.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes, use the online booking system here or pop into the Bromley salon to pick up a hardcopy gift card.

Are you locations accessible to all?

BROMLEY

Unfortunately, there is no wheelchair access at this location. The salon is located on the 2nd floor with no lift access. If you are unable to access the salon I do offer a home service for clients who have access issues.

LONDON

The london salon is located on the ground floor but has no ramp.

Covid-19 instructions and measures.

We ask all clients visiting the salon to come alone, bring a mask and use the handwashing facilities available before entry into the main salon. All clients will need to don disposable shoe covers, a gown and gloves during their service.

The whole salon is thoroughly cleaned daily. All tools, chairs and doors are being cleaned in between clients.

No, services are appointment only.

Is there parking around the area?

BROMLEY

Yes, there is free parking available on Shawfield Park BR1 2NQ which is within a 2 minute walk of the salon. The street outside the salon is permit holder only between the hours of 12 and 2 pm and free afterwards.

LONDON

There is limited pay and display parking in the area.

Are there any public transport links around the area?

BROMLEY

Yes. Bromley North and Bromley South train stations are only 5/10 minutes away by bus. London Victoria and London Bridge are located 30 minutes from Bickley Station.

Buses 162, 269 and 336 stop within 5 minutes of the salon.

LONDON

Yes. The Northern Line operates from Oval tube station which is under 5 minutes away from the salon. The salon is also a ten-minute walk from Vauxhall tube station which is serviced by the Victoria line.

The following buses stop within 5 minutes of the salon: 3, 36, 59, 155, 159, 185, 333, 436.

Can I bring a guest to my appointment?

Unfortunately, you cannot bring anyone with you into the salon or the main building due to the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.

You are welcome to bring someone along to your appointment. Unfortunately, unsupervised young children are not allowed to wait in the London salon.

I have an issue which effects my scalp/hair. Can I still book one of the services you offer?

We have dealt with clients who have a variety of issues such as post surgery scars, psoriasis, dandruff, sparsity, alopecia and female pattern baldness. If you are unsure or would like to talk about how we can accommodate you please contact us.
